Environmental Staff Scientist (Charlottesville, Va)

We are seeking an entry-level Staff Scientist for our Charlottesville, VA location. Staff Scientist: Candidates must have a B.S. in engineering, geology, or related science discipline with 0-4 years of experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Soil, groundwater, drinking water, air sampling.
• Phase I and Phase II reporting
• Site assessments
• Drilling/monitoring well installation oversight
• Geotechnical and environmental drilling, soil sampling and testing
• Technical report writing permitting.
• Construction oversight
• UST Closures
• Field analysis and surveying
• Remediation System Installation, operation and maintenance
• Communication tower NEPA and Section 106 compliance is a plus.

The appropriate candidates will possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. Must be flexible, willing to work overtime, and occasional overnight travel. Company vehicles are provided for job travel. OSHA 40-hour Health & Safety training at Hazardous Waste sites as well as appropriate 8-hour refreshers a plus.
