SalarySRC, Inc. is currently seeking an Entry LevelEnvironmental Data Scientist. The position may be filled by work from home or located in one of several possible office locations (Scarborough, ME; Syracuse, NY; Arlington, VA). This scientist will manage, organize, and evaluate Environmental Data using various database tools as part of the site risk assessment team. This scientist will provide an integral function in generating data files and data summaries for use in risk assessments and hazard characterizations, as well as providing quality control review of technical deliverables. This is an office-based, non-laboratory position that will support various programs for the United States Environmental Protection Agency. What You’ll Do
- Work closely with SRC team and senior EPA scientists to organize, review, and summarize large complex data sets that will be used for human health and ecological risk assessment projects for Superfund and related hazardous waste sites throughout the U.S.
- Provide technical review of human health and ecological risk assessment or other site-related data with respect to scientific validity and compliance with Agency guidance and identify data gaps, trends, and inconsistencies.
- Contribute to human health and ecological risk assessments and chemical hazard characterization reports.
- Work with multidisciplinary project teams to address complex research needs.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in scientific field (e.g., environmental science, biology, biochemistry) with 0 years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated technical writing and oral communication skills is a plus.
- Demonstrated working knowledge and application of Microsoft Excel. Experience with Microsoft Access and in statistical software (e.g., SAS, R) is a plus.

Total compensation for this role is market competitive. The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $55,000- $65,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs.
