This job is responsible for training employees throughout the organization on processes and procedures to ensure compliance with the federal, state, and local environmental standards.
- Train Environmental Compliance Technicians on:
- Sampling and tagging untested units.
- Building loads in Wildcat for non-regulated equipment to include proper labeling, record keeping, building containers for Non-PCB capacitors, bushings etc. to maximize shipment efficiency, etc.
- Load pallet and band equipment for transportation: establish best practices to minimize issues.
- Conduct weekly check-ins with personnel for potential compliance issues.
- Complete environmental and safety audits across all Sunbelt Solomon facilities.
- Facilitate training specific to performing environmental compliance tasks (RCRA, SWPPP, SPCC, PCB).
- Creates and update library of facility specific training on sampling of specialized equipment to optimize an environmental leaning rolodex.
- Understand and to be able to teach awareness of materials used in the facility.
- Guide employees on the proper collection, disposal of waste, check and update materials list for SDS compliance.
- Update and maintain waste profiles with TSDF sites.
- High School diploma, required.
- 3-5 years previous experience environmental/transformer industry.
- Needs to be able to spot problems quickly and find underlying causes so changes can be made.
- Must have attention to detail.
- Numerical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are key. Must be able to relay potentially complex ideas to a wide range of audiences.
- Ability to work within a team, and in close coordination with other teams throughout the manufacturing facility.
