Job Description
PURPOSE
Ensures all areas of the center are cleaned and presentable to donors, employees, and auditors. Must understand customer service and keep assigned areas, such as offices, reception, donor floor, restrooms, etc. in clean and orderly condition.
General Requirements – Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures, Current Good Manufacturing Practices, and Company Policies. Ensure donor suitability, product integrity, and continued good health of donors through the center’s compliance with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, state regulations, the Standard Operating Procedure Manual guidelines of the Company, and any other applicable regulatory standards.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Performs cleaning of public areas, donor beds, and ancillary areas, to ensure a clean, safe and attractive environment for staff, donors, and visitors.
- Cleans and disinfects assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
- Uses cleaning chemicals properly.
- Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious/biohazard waste and trash throughout the facility and maintains cleanliness of the biohazardous waste room.
- Regularly maintains and cleans work and storage areas (including storage areas for critical supplies) following established policy and procedures to ensure safety.
- Uses supplies appropriately and effectively.
- Restocks supplies in all donor areas.
- Assists with unstocking supplies, distribute deliveries, and breakdown cardboard throughout the facility.
- Communicates issues to center management, and/or other necessary parties.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety rules as stated in the Employee Handbook and as otherwise posted or communicated.
- Any other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent (Must be able to show proof)
- Strong customer service skills.
- Work successfully with fellow employees & others.
- Understand and follow instructions, both verbal and written.
- Explain how to complete a task, understand instructions for the task using basic communication skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Performing the responsibilities of the job requires the ability to use hands and fingers to handle and feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to stand, walk, climb and balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. It May required reaching above shoulders. Required to stand for extended periods of time (4-6 hour intervals). Ability to lift, tug, and pull up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role routinely uses standard cleaning equipment and supplies. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens and other conditions common to a donor center. Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, lab coat, and gloves.
