Position:Environmental Services Supervisor
General Description:
The Environmental Services Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily housekeeping and grounds maintenance of all facilities they are assigned to. Safety of the guests/residents of the facility as well as the overall appearance. The Environmental Services Supervisor will be given the authority to make appropriate decisions and contacts in order to achieve a safe and efficient operation.
Principal Duties:
- Recruiting, training, scheduling, supervising, evaluating and disciplining of assigned staff.
- Organize and lead agency snow removal operations including the use of snow blowers, shovels and salt products to clear snow from entrances & walks. Allocates tasks to Environmental Service Techs.
- Organize and lead agency ground maintenance operations using power mowers, rakes, shovels and hand tools to maintain grounds, shrubs & flower beds at all HRH sites. Allocates tasks to Environmental Service Techs.
- Organize and lead agency housekeeping operations. Responsible for apartment and room turnovers, all building offices spaces, common areas and bathrooms. Performs work according to standard procedures, routine maintenance and cleaning checklists. Allocates tasks to Housekeeping staff with proper equipment using brooms, mops and floor equipment to sweep, mop, strip and wax floors.
- Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping/grounds maintenance equipment, and takes corrective action.
- Managing the procurement, purchasing and ordering of all housekeeping and grounds maintenance supplies, equipment and related items.
- Coordinates work activities among Environmental Services and Maintenance Department to improve vacancy turnovers.
- Conducts orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.
- Makes recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient daily operations.
- Developing and maintaining a system for on-call and emergency coverage of facility.
- Prepares reports concerning room occupancy, payroll, and department expenses.
- Overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the physical buildings. Responding to building problems as they arise.
- Attending and participating in all staff meetings, trainings and conferences as required.
- Receives general supervision from VP of Facilities or designated supervisor.
- Carry out additional tasks as required by VP/Director of Facilities.
Qualifications:
Education/Knowledge: Require a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience and/or an Associates Degree in related field. Ability to work with diverse groups, written and oral communication skills, problem solving ability, organizational skills, maturity and professional judgment needed.
Experience: Management experience required. Five years supervisory experience is desired. Experience in providing quality living accommodations to people who are low income, homeless, mentally ill, and other needy populations desired.
License Requirements: Valid driver's license and Own Transportation.
