POSITION: Technical Services – Environmental Scientist
EWMI currently has an opening for a Environmental Scientist in the Technical Services Department. We are looking for an organized and dedicated individual who is able to carry on the EWMI/RRI reputation of providing responsive and informed services. This position reports to the Technical Services Manager.
Primary Duties & Expectations:
· Duties shall be to perform internal project management activities for Environmental Waste Minimization and Rapid Response. Provide support for ongoing and emerging client services.
· Determine waste characterization and create waste profiles for disposal facilities – developing an understanding of how disposal technology and cost best serve our clients.
· Manage complex disposal projects over short and long term periods for performance and profitability.
· The ability to review client waste inventories to evaluate waste materials, estimate customer lab packs and anticipate problematic disposal and/or safety concerns.
· Preparing concise and professional client invoices and review vendor invoices for accuracy.
· The Specialist is responsible for managing new and ongoing projects as well as assisting Sales Representatives with customer activities.
· Initiate, create, track project schedules, work activities and project requirements.
· Administrate all necessary paperwork, including, but not limited to; establish waste approvals and waste profiles; create manifests; generate client invoices.
· Understand and practice basic business fundamentals.
· Communicate follow up activities to the organization.
· Interact and manage vendors, subcontractors and suppliers including negotiating pricing. Manage vendor’s
costs, approve vendor invoices.
· Responsibilities also include phone greeting, responding to customer inquiries / solving customer issues.
· Successful performance and completion of any company related tasks.
· Establish and maintain strong client relationships.
· Have working knowledge of Regulatory and Health & Safety compliance including OSHA, DOT, DEP and EPA regulations.
· Possess competent computer skills along with strong written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
· Possess excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
· Have the ability to solve problems and motivation to take initiative in organizing and completing assigned projects.
- Attend and successfully complete related training and education seminars/classes.
