Atlas is looking for an experienced Environmental Project Manager to join our Sub-surface Investigation and Petroleum Remediation team in Minnesota and Wisconsin. The candidate chosen for this position will be a team-oriented individual with excellent communication skills who is capable of coordinating and leading sub-surface investigations, complete billing and invoicing, and communicate with the clients based on their needs. This position would work with a team of environmental scientists, due diligence specialists, and Atlas Practice Area leaders to lead and support projects that include sub-surface investigations, leak site investigations, and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments. The ideal candidate has direct experience with Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Minnesota Department of Transportation, and ASTM Standards for Phase I and Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform project management responsibilities for sub-surface investigation projects, including preparing and managing scopes of work, budgets, schedules, subcontractor coordination, and direct client communication; manage teams to deliver several projects concurrently.
  • Facilitate the development of environmental staff in executing fieldwork.
  • Assess and analyze environmental impacts and identify recommendations for the client.
  • Lead and/or participate in consultation with state and federal agencies.
  • Support other Project Managers across disciplines in completing required studies, documents, and reports.
  • Support marketing needs to expand our environmental practices in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or related fields.
  • 5 years’ experience working with federal, state, and local agencies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Minnesota or Wisconsin Leak Site Investigations.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite, strong people skills, excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • The ability to lead a small team and complete multiple projects simultaneously.

Technical Requirements:

  • Experience and understanding of ASTM Environmental Site Assessment
  • Experience and understanding of Minnesota Petroleum Remediation Programs and/or Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources
  • PE or PG certification, consider a plus
  • 40-hr HAZWOPER training
