Environmental Intern - Summer 2024
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Milliken Environmental Intern position allows rising university juniors or seniors to work on a significant process improvement project. The project is aimed at enhancing the digital compliance task tracking system (Enablon) and is designed to empower actionable reporting and prioritize accountability for environmental and safety compliance obligations. During this internship, you will play a vital role in collaborating with consultants, engaging with stakeholders, and making necessary modifications to the Enablon system.
This position is located at our Milliken Headquarters in Spartanburg, SC and will report directly to the Environmental Director.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a Corporate EHS related project
- Learn a new EHS software system and be able to configure the system to support our needs
- Collaborate with consultants to identify and implement necessary modifications to the Enablon system
- Work closely with compliance task stakeholders to establish a prioritization framework for environmental and safety compliance obligations
- Conduct thorough testing of the modified Enablon system to validate functionality and data accuracy
- Evaluate the project’s success against predefined objectives
- Determine solutions using continuous improvement techniques
- Create a knowledge repository for future reference and training purposes
- Demonstrate creative thinking by identifying unique approaches to problem-solving
- Work effectively with a diverse group of people to implement project improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS – REQUIRED
- Rising junior or senior at a university
- Working towards a BS degree
- Strong Communication Skills
CAPABILITIES – PREFERRED
- Electrical/Computer, Mechanical engineering major – others considered
- Efficient in PowerPoint, Excel spreadsheets and SharePoint
- Evidence of strong computer proficiency
- GPA – 3.0 minimum
