1st shift-M-Fri. 8:00am-4:30pm

The Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator I supports the organization's commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. This entry-level position assists in implementing and maintaining Environmental Health and safety programs. The role involves collaborating with EH&S professionals, conducting inspections, and supporting training initiatives.

Travel Requirements:
Travel will be required to support local Bethlehem, PA sites within a 10-mile radius. Additional limited travel upon request may be required for meetings, training, audits, or collaboration with other company locations or external partners.

Snapshot of Responsibilities
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of Environmental Health and safety programs for all areas of the company.
  • Collaborate with EH&S professionals to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Participate in conducting routine inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards.
  • Coordinate inspection reports to document inspection findings. Assist in preparing for and participating in EH&S audits.
  • Support EH&S program implementation; training initiatives, including scheduling, tracking attendance, and maintaining training records.
  • Assist in the development of training materials as needed.
  • Maintain and organize EH&S-related data, including incident reports, inspection findings, and training records.
  • Ensure that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
  • Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations related to EH&S performance.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
  • Support drills and exercises to ensure readiness for emergency situations.
  • Work closely with EHS Specialists to assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all workman's compensation incidents.
  • Ensure timely and thorough documentation of incident details, injuries, and medical treatments.
What you bring:
  • Associate Degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field desirable or 2-5 years of equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the cGMP Manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
  • Basic knowledge of Environmental Health and safety principles, regulations and policies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, showcasing the capacity to find creative solutions and adapt to unforeseen obstacles.
  • Knowledge of technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
  • Should be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • This role requires the ability to move between different environments indoor and outdoor, including offices, laboratories, manufacturing areas, and warehouses.
  • Mobility is key, as this role may need to navigate through different workspaces to perform inspections. Activities may involve bending, reaching, and hands-on handling of materials and tools.
