Job Details:
We are seeking a dedicated and driven Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our dynamic team. This permanent position is your opportunity to take your EHS expertise to the next level in a unionized manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for implementing, managing, and improving our EHS programs, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and promoting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship throughout the organization. The role involves working closely with various departments and stakeholders, including production, maintenance, engineering, and human resources, to identify risks and implement effective solutions.
Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and manage EHS programs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA and DOT standards.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards, non-compliance issues, and opportunities for improvement in EHS performance.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of industrial machinery and heavy equipment to ensure safety and compliance with EHS standards.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs to educate employees about safety regulations and practices.
• Facilitate the integration of EHS management systems into business operations, using tools such as 6S, SAP, and ERP.
• Collaborate with union representatives and other stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
• Monitor changes in EHS legislation and ensure the organization's continuous compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement in EHS performance through proactive risk management, performance tracking, and strategic planning.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in an EHS role in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and standards, including OSHA and DOT.
• Experience with industrial machinery and heavy equipment.
• Proficiency in using EHS management tools such as 6S, SAP, and ERP.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation is an asset.
