A Day in the Life (Responsibilities):

The Client Project Manager supervises daily field operations for monitoring projects. The Client Project Manager position will be responsible for managing the field monitoring activities, field team roles and task understanding, field quality control, providing logistical and material support to the field team, ensuring site and work safety standards are met, and liaise with the client as may be required. The Client Project Manager position will act as the field management position for the field team, plant contacts, regulatory contacts, and Monitoring Montrose client owner. The following list of duties are responsibilities of the Client Project Manager.

  • Project Management for New and Existing Monitoring Projects:
  • Assist with monitoring system design and engineering documentation.
  • Assist with equipment procurement.
  • Program and maintain data acquisition systems for monitoring projects.
  • Manage, direct and document results of Factory Acceptance Tests for new monitoring systems.
  • Plan, manage and lead field teams for installation and commissioning of monitoring stations and networks.
  • Develop, maintain and update Monitoring Plans, Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs) and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Liaise with clients and regulatory agencies for projects
  • Perform project administrative tasks.
  • Recruit, train, manage and provide technical support to field personnel.
  • Supervise and direct Field Technicians in routine tasks and response to problems; provide technical support to diagnose and resolve problems.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to other project personnel.
  • Manage and maintain inventories of spare parts and consumables.
  • Ensure all field personnel are provided with appropriate safety training and PPE commensurate with work tasks and activities.
  • Ensure all field personnel consistently adhere to Montrose and client facility-specific workplace safety standards and policies.
  • Quality Assurance Activities:
  • Plan and conduct independent performance and systems field audits on air quality and meteorological monitors. Ensure correct documentation of all audit activities.
  • Maintain current traceability of all calibration standards and test equipment.
  • Support validation of monitoring data through knowledge and application of instrument quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) tests, objectives and acceptance criteria. critical review of data, QA/QC documentation and field activities.
  • Document non-conformance events, investigative and corrective actions, problem resolution and assessment of impact on data validity.
  • Ensure completeness, correctness and archival of project field records.

 

  • Business Development:
  • Work with Montrose team to identify and develop ambient air monitoring project opportunities.
  • Maintain professional knowledge and expertise of current, relevant regulatory guidance and requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge and expertise with monitoring methods and commercially-available monitoring equipment and technologies.
  • Proposal development (includes determining project costs, pricing and proposal writing).
  • Liaise with clients and regulatory agencies as required.

Education Requirements

  • High School diploma or degree in related field
  • Advanced knowledge of ambient air quality and meteorological monitoring methodologies and associated regulatory agency requirements.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting ambient air quality monitoring projects, unless otherwise accepted by the District Manager
  • Proficient in communicating at all levels of the organization
  • Experience managing client relationships and overseeing Client Projects, including budgeting and managing project costs
  • Possess good organizational and scheduling skills and have ability to prioritize
  • Extensive knowledge in applicable Federal, State and Local regulations

 

Years of Experience

  • 5+ years minimum of ambient air quality monitoring experience

 

Systems

  • Proficient knowledge with Google and Microsoft office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • In-depth experience with programming and configuring data acquisitions systems, analog and digital data communications systems, local area networks, digital data communications protocols, instrumentation electronics and control systems.
  • Extensive knowledge and ability to train and teach EPA and local regulatory methods and requirements for ambient air quality and meteorological monitoring programs.

 

 

Licensures/Training Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License is required
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) is preferred
  • First Aid and CPR Certified is beneficial

 

Safety/Drug Screening

  • Capability to pass background checks and initial and random drug screening
  • Must be able to successfully pass a urine, alcohol, and hair drug test
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders

 

Travel

  • Ability/willingness to travel locally and overnight. Jobs may be out of town and durations can vary from a day to two weeks.
