Job Description
Position Overview:
As a customs Entry Writer, your primary responsibilities are to review import documents, ensure that all customs invoices and shipment papers are present, comply with all regulations, and prepare paperwork for customs clearance. Ensure all shipments are customs cleared and PGA cleared. Communicate with transportation staff and clients.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Use specialized software to clear goods through customs.
- Answer client customs questions
- Help to build client reports and databases.
- Learn customs and regulatory laws to help clients import goods.
- Learn to use automation systems to help enter goods through customs.
- Identify products that require PGAs.
- Become a SME on regulatory requirements for importing goods.
- Complete clerical duties and monitor the processing for goods going through customs.
- May required to be on call and work as part of a Saturday rotation
- Additional job duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree; degree in Logistics, Transportation, or Supply Chain Management is preferred
- Bilingual Korean/English required
- 1 year of professional experience or related training
- Experience with organization, planning, and follow-through
- 1 year of experience in Customs Brokerage
- Experience working in a TMS and/or CRM
- Competency in Microsoft Office and Google applications Analyst, Carrier
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; must have the ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively via email, phone, and during face to face meetings
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion and function independently, within authorized limits
