The Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) Mission Systems & Autonomy (MS&A) software capability is seeking multiple Entry Level Software Engineers in El Segundo, California, Huntington Beach, California, Annapolis Junction, Maryland, and Fairfax, Virginia.
The position will involve creating software for world class, next generation disruptive systems and technologies. The selected candidate will work with the Disruptive Computing & Networks (DC&N) product team focused on the concept, requirements, architecture, design and development of a future system. Our software products help solve Boeing’s most challenging problems across Commercial Airplanes, Defense Space & Security, and Global Services businesses. Projects can range from new cyber security solutions for the revolutionary 787 Dreamliner to innovative aircraft, creating virtual avionics development test environments across several commercial, defense, satellite, and space platforms, satellite payload technologies, and autonomy.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

• Bachelor of science degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry by Aug 2024
• Experience designing and developing software for a real time or non-real-time system
• Experience in software development using languages such as Python, Java, C, C++, and MATLAB
• Experience working in an agile environment utilizing tools like; JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc
• Experience with Agile development methodologies

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

• 1+ years of experience designing and developing software for a real time or non-real-time system
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle that includes requirements analysis through Formal Qualification
• Experience automating software builds, unit tests, integration tests, deployment, and installations using a DevOps tool chain (Gitlab, Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory, etc)
• Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance with Poly

TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

• Assists with the documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
• Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
• Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
• Gathers information to support software project management. Documents deployed processes and tools and collect metrics
• Supports software research and development projects
• Troubleshoots basic software issues
• Works under close supervision
