What’s the Opportunity?
Anchor QEA is seeking a full-time Scientist or Engineer for our Portland, Oregon office. We are interested in a candidate that has the capacity to grow, is a quick learner, detail-orientated, and a committed team player. This position will primarily support projects involving fate and transport evaluations and treatability testing to support design efforts for site cleanups. Successful candidates will have an opportunity to work on a variety of tasks of differing complexities, both independently and in team environments, learning directly from leaders in the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in laboratory and field studies following established project plans and operating procedures
- Manage, analyze, and interpret environmental data, including data obtained in laboratory and fieldwork
- Perform technical writing to support the preparation of project plans, data reports, sampling and analysis plans, remedial investigation and feasibility study reports on a range of multi-disciplinary projects including upland and sediment remediation projects
What Are We Looking For?
Ideal candidates will have the following:
- Masters or PhD degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, chemistry, toxicology, geological science, or related program
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a laboratory setting
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a laboratory setting with potentially hazardous substances
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and comply with health and safety protocols
- Working knowledge of Python, R, or other coding language for data manipulation, processing, analysis, and visualization
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Detail oriented with meticulous note taking and data organization
- Ability to organize and maintain field equipment
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, which can also be obtained on the job
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to deadlines

Base Level Benefits for Regular Full-Time Positions:
