As a Purchasing Technician for Life Sciences North America, you will be responsible for managing procurement transactions associated with buying engineered capital equipment or the subcontracting of construction services under close supervision and within clearly defined procedures. The Purchasing Technician possesses basic knowledge and understanding of procurement concepts, principles, and practices, and uses professional techniques to manage task completion.
Join a knowledgeable and supportive team as you solve problems, think critically, and provide Supply Chain support on multi-million-dollar Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) Projects for the Life Sciences industry. Daily work activities will include the development of solicitation packages, coordination and resolution of supplier questions, evaluation of proposals, day-to-day progress tracking of existing orders, coordination of shop visits and inspections, support in the management of onsite materials, and utilization of Supply Management Systems to manage orders and agreements.
In this position you will report directly to the Manager of Procurement Services (MOPS) for the office to which they are assigned. While supporting Jacobs' Projects, you will report indirectly to the assigned Project Procurement Manager (PPM) or lead.

- Bachelor's degree in a business, construction, Supply Chain, or operations management field, or equivalent project experience.
- Experience using MS Office tools, including intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills.
- An expressed interest in pursuing a career in Procurement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work and thrive in a team environment
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills and a drive to solve complex and challenging problems.
Ideally, you will also have:
- 3.0 GPA or higher
- Previous relevant internship experience
