Our Auburn, Maine manufacturing plant is seeking 1 Entry Level (0-4 years of experience) Project Engineer to work within the site logistics department. This resource will support a project portfolio focused on objective of expanding manufacturing, warehousing, and safety capability for the department. You'll be assigned to cross-functional teams as the technical departmental representative to offer input, drive change, and contribute to solving problems. Additional role scope will be dedicated to leading safety projects which drive safety incident reductions and keep our employees safe. Successful candidates will break down barriers to success, guide project teams through innovation projects, and build upon success for the department.

The Auburn location is about 40 minutes from Portland - Maine's largest city - and exists as an integral production node within P&G's Feminine Care business unit. The Auburn plant was founded in 1968 as part of Tambrands, Inc. before the company was acquired by P&G in 1997. Our site has over 500 full time employees split between technicians, engineers, and support personnel working in a variety of operating departments. Here we manufacture the majority of P&G's tampon products for worldwide distribution.   • This posting has a start date set for mid-late Summer 2024.

  • These roles are onsite Monday through Friday with typical days starting between 6:30 - 7 am.

  • Occasional night and weekend support may be required based on project work (planned in advance)

What will you do?The work will depend on the yearly project portfolio, but generally the following applies:

  • Identifying, prioritizing, analyzing, and eliminating losses and inefficiencies through standards and system development

  • Support daily activities of processing, warehousing, and forklift areas to build long term capability. This is delivered through area, system, and technician improvement.

  • Delivery and start-up of new equipment, initiatives, and projects

  • Coach the team Safety Functional Leaders on core safety topics & expectations

  • Create and Lead a Safety Action Plan for the Logistics department using data on common/significant losses

  • Collaborate with technical experts, other functions, and other manufacturing sites to create the best solutions for logistics/warehousing

  • Cultivate learning programs, then coach and train technicians

  • Create and improve standards to enable us to achieve logistic performance targets

  • Understand and work with state-of-the-art robotics and automated equipment

  • Benchmark and reapply Logistics, Warehousing, and Safety solutions from other P&G sites with similar applications.

Job Qualifications

You are a good fit if you:

  • Have a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering, or Operations Management (with a Manufacturing focus). Other engineering degrees will also be considered

  • Bring an interest in manufacturing, onsite, people facing work.

  • Desire a tight knit, collaborative team

  • Are willing to travel on the job on occasion. Travel in this role is not expected to be more than 10-15% of the time.

  • Are willing to relocate during your career. At P&G employees typically have the opportunity to relocate, pending personal & professional circumstances, between every 2-5 years.

  • Have 0-4 years of full time experience, preferably in a manufacturing, logistics / warehousing, or general industrial environment

JUST SO YOU KNOW:

Starting Salary Range: $85,000 - $115,000 annually.

Compensation for roles at P&G varies depending on a wide array of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skill set, and level of relevant experience. At P&G compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Total rewards at P&G include salary + bonus (if applicable) + benefits.
