Work Environment
Operates in a normal office environment, but also requires considerable time in the field. While outside the office, the employee could be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. Must be able to walk across rugged terrain, climb substantial heights, and work over and on water. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly requires work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The incumbent occasionally lifts heavy objects, walks, and stands for extended periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs.

Job Purpose
Provides engineering support and field oversite for infrastructure projects and water treatment operations. Requires the design of systems, processes and equipment for the control, management and remediation of contaminated water, air and/or soil. Requires the coordination of site logistics and the design and implementation of treatment system modifications.
Essential Functions
- Work with an environmental team on complex environmental investigations.
- Provide technical expertise, support, and oversee remedial designs, proposals, preliminary investigations, and other reports.
- Manage and evaluate data.
- Interpret geologic, hydrogeologic, and environmental data.
- Coordinating with project management teams and other disciplines leads to managing project deliverables, ensuring schedules and budgets are achieved.
- When required, work collaboratively with other departments, environmental regulators, and other staff on project related work.
- Participate in Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work.
- Always maintain the highest level of safety, quality, and ethics.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Environmental, Civil, or Geological Engineering, Environmental science, or related technical degree.
- 2+ years of experience or advanced degree.
- Knowledge of and experience operating Civil 3D drafting software.
- Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical writing experience.
- Soil and groundwater investigation and sampling experience.
- Knowledge of drilling and construction techniques.
- Knowledge of aquifer testing.
- Experience using field equipment.
- Must pass background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance. with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
- Knowledge of Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA (Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act)) and the processes for site investigations, remedial alternative studies, and work plan implementations.
- Knowledge of the Resources Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
Preferred Qualifications
- MS degree and EIT Licensure
