Perform minor component repair and all aspects of preventative maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- PM services
- Vehicle component replacement under technician’s supervision
- Electrical system and lighting repairs
- Cooling system maintenance
- Perform basic diagnostics
- Assist mechanics with tractor and trailer repairs
- Assist with tire repairs and perform tire replacements
- Drive forklifts and non-CDL company vehicles
- Understand and adhere to all safety standards
- Keep shop and personal work area clean and organized
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- Provide excellent Customer Service

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- 1-2 years of automotive or diesel experience preferred
- Vocational or Technical certification preferred
- Working knowledge in the use of hand tools required
- Basic computer skills preferred for data entry into maintenance systems
- Must possess a mechanical aptitude

Good oral and written communication ability

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
A valid drivers license is required with minimal violations as required by PGT drivers policies and be able to at least pull trucks in/out of shop safely.

- Job duties may be performed at PGT locations, at customer locations, and on service calls on the side of a highway. This position operates in all types of indoor and outdoor work environments, therefore exposure to heat and cold is to be expected. Excellent safety and attendance performance is expected.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel occasionally domestically.
Occasional: activity exists less than 1/3 of the time.
Frequent: activity exists 1/3 and 2/3 of the time.
