The Opportunity:

Reporting to the IT Services, Portfolio and Planning Manager in our Information Services Division, you will serve as the primary agency contact for IT vendors and will facilitate purchases between DRS, resellers, and vendors for enterprise IT goods and services managed by the division.
Duties
Some of what you'll do:
  • Facilitate and manage the purchasing process between DRS, resellers and IT vendors from beginning to end, coordinating with DRS teams (e.g., Fiscal, Contracts) as needed to ensure the procurement process follows all required standards, processes and policies
  • Develop and maintain a vendor library for IT vendors, including the service/product/ software procured and the main points of contact
  • Manage and monitor vendors for speed, quality and responsiveness, as well as potential issues or concerns that could impact the agency
  • Track renewals of IT products and software against the division's budget to ensure payments are made when planned and in the amount expected
  • Track IT expenditures to help ensure better decision making on forecasting and budgeting
  • Lead the process for all new non-standard IT software requests
  • Serve as the IT Software Licensing Account Administrator for ISD-managed software licenses.
NOTE: Upon hire, you will be eligible for a hybrid work schedule. Once you effectively demonstrate the ability to perform work independently, you may be eligible for a full-time telework schedule, at the discretion of the Appointing Authority and with a telework agreement in place. The ability to work remotely is dependent on the nature of the tasks and projects assigned and the presence of a remote work environment that is safe and has an appropriate level of reliable connectivity. You must live within a reasonable commuting distance (less than 50 straight-line miles) to the DRS building in Tumwater, WA, and must be willing to adjust your telework schedule to attend mandatory meetings, trainings, etc., at the DRS facility.
Qualifications
What we're looking for (required qualifications):
  • Proven experience in information technology performing consultation, analysis, design, programming, installation and/or maintenance of computer software applications, hardware, telecommunications, or network infrastructure equipment, directing projects, providing customer or technical support in information technology; OR supervising staff who perform work in any of these information technology disciplines. This experience is typically gained from a minimum of four (4) years of full-time professional work experience;
  • Proven experience administering IT contracts or software licenses, including cost or price analysis and compliance administration. This experience is typically gained from a minimum of two (2) years of full-time professional work experience;
  • Demonstrated experience managing large Microsoft Enterprise Premier Support agreements, completion of Microsoft Licensing Bootcamp are highly desired qualifications;
  • Proven ability to work with others who have a wide range of abilities, backgrounds, skills and experience;
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and respond to frequent and rapid changes in workload and priorities; and
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the following competency areas:

Insurance Benefits
Employees and their families are covered by medical (including vision), dental and basic life insurance. There are multiple medical plans with affordable monthly premiums that offer coverage throughout the state.

Retirement and Deferred Compensation
State Employees are members of the Washington Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS). New employees have the option of two employer contributed retirement programs. For additional information, check out the Department of Retirement Systems' web site.
Employees also have the ability to participate in the Deferred Compensation Program (DCP). This is a supplemental retirement savings program (similar to an IRA) that allows you control over the amount of pre-tax salary dollars you defer as well as the flexibility to choose between multiple investment options.
Social Security
All state employees are covered by the federal Social Security and Medicare systems. The state and the employee pay an equal amount into the system.
Public Service Loan Forgiveness
If you are employed by a government or not-for-profit organization, and meet the qualifying criteria, you may be eligible to receive student loan forgiveness under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
Holidays
Full-time and part-time employees are entitled to paid holidays and one paid personal holiday per calendar year.
