Who are we?
The Enterprise Innovation Unit is a cross-cutting team working under the overarching mission of the California Department of Social Services to serve and support those in need by fostering innovation throughout the Department. Through effective communication, coordination, collaboration, and consultation with CDSS programs, we create innovative solutions. Our core values are purposeful utilization of resources, out of-the-box thinking, streamlining processes, and continuous learning. We work on a variety of projects that support the Department's programs and help shift the culture. We regard one another as teammates and conduct our daily business and project strategies as such, working collaboratively and supporting one another's efforts without regard to classification or status.
What will you do?
We are seeking an analyst to help lead a variety of department-wide change management projects.
• Independently plan and strategize to implement various business process improvements and organizational health projects.
• Collaborate with staff from all Divisions to understand their pain points on various processes; provide recommendations on user-centered solutions to solve those pain points.
• Research and master software tools to innovate new solutions and modernize department work processes.
• Lead and participate in workshops and workgroups.
• Lead and support change management efforts for projects across the Department.
Independently lead and manage solutions that leverage SharePoint and automation tools to optimize work flows for various teams throughout all levels of the Department.
Be willing to challenge traditional views, initial impressions, and your own assumptions when approaching a problem.

3. Please describe a time when you independently identified an opportunity for process improvement, and took the initiative to develop a solution or alternative. What were the circumstances? What challenges did you face? How was your solution received? What was the outcome?
4. What does teamwork and collaboration mean to you? When working with others, do you tend to see yourself as more of a leader or someone who takes instructions and executes (there is no right answer to this)? Why do you think you tend to gravitate toward that role?
5. What was the best supervisor or manager you ever had and why? What was the worst supervisor that you ever had and why?
