Are you looking for a fast-paced and challenging position that will provide you with extremely valuable IT supervisory experience, extensive variety, and frequent exposure to managers and staff in the Information Technology Branch? The Employment Development Department (EDD) is looking for a highly motivated and qualified individual to work in the Enterprise Desktop Application Security Group. The Information Technology Supervisor II ensures that the operational services offered by the EDAS team are monitored and operational.
Under the general direction of the Information Technology (IT) Manager I, the IT Supervisor II is responsible for formulating and administering organizational information technology policies and programs and for planning, organizing, and directing work. The incumbent works as an IT Supervisor II of the Enterprise Security Operations Section/ Enterprise Desktop Applications Security Group, within the Infrastructure Services Division of the IT Branch, in the Employment Development Department (EDD). The incumbent serves as a supervisor in support of the organization's enterprise information technology operations, including all associated hardware/software components and the confidential and sensitive data used at the EDD. The incumbent is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and operations of the organization's statewide information technology systems. The incumbent acts as an IT Supervisor II on systems software support, and/or on information systems.
The incumbent contributes toward the growth of the Information Technology Branch into a customer-focused service organization by following the Branch's established cultural principles and they will also continuously improve communications and relationships with vendors, subordinates, peers, management, and customers.
This position is headquartered in Sacramento, CA and may be eligible for telework under EDD's telework policy. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.
Position is located at EDD's Headquarters office at 800 Capitol Mall, Sacramento, California.

Statement of Qualifications Requirements
A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is Required. The SOQ serves as documentation of each candidate's ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. The SOQ is not a resume or cover letter.
The SOQ will be considered the first phase of the hiring process for this position. If your qualifications are competitive, you will be invited to an interview. The SOQ should be typed and not more than two pages in length, not less than 12 point font, single-spaced, with margins not less than one inch, including your first and last name at the top of the page, and must address your experience in the following areas, including specific examples:
  • Please describe your experience leading a team with multiple workstreams. What skills did you utilize to ensure activities are being handled efficiently.

    Background Investigation Requirement
