Description

Quality Gold, Inc. is a growing fashion jewelry & gift wholesale distributor/manufacturing company located in Fairfield, OH. QG is seeking positive, energetic, and dependable individuals to join our team!

Responsibilities: Use specialized engraving machines to engrave and/or etch patterns, designs, trademarks, or lettering onto a wide variety of gift products and precious metals for the purpose of providing our customers with a full range of product personalization options.

Job Duties (including but not limited to):

• Visibly inspect product for quality assurance prior to engraving.
• Measure and compute dimensions of lettering, designs, or patterns to be engraved and examine sketches, diagrams, samples, or photographs to determine best methods.
• Prepare and convert engraving content and images via engraving software, according to customer specifications, and load to engraving machines.
• Set up engraving job by adjusting machines arm gauges and choosing proper methods (braces) to secure product.
• Engrave and/or etch print patterns, designs, trademarks, or lettering onto flat or curved surfaces using Signature Engraver and Gravograph machines.
• Examine engraving for quality of cut, rough spots, accuracy, and irregular or incomplete engraving.
• Clean and polish engraved areas.

Hours: Full-Time or Part-Time hours would be scheduled between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Some Saturday hours may be required during peak-seasons.

Secure Area Work Environment: Individuals working in the secure area are required to follow the companies Secure Area Dress Code and Security policies and procedures. All clothing must be free from metal and no metal worn into the secure area of the building. Any metal present inside or outside the body due to a medical condition must be visually inspected or reasonable accommodations may be made.

Qualifications

Competencies:

• Attention to detail.
• Strong arithmetic skills and the ability to perform conversions between standard units of measurement in order to solve problems and set up engraving machines.
• This position also requires knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
• The ability to learn and navigate various engraving software and administrative and clerical systems and procedures such as word processing and managing files and records.
• Work independently and efficient management of time.
• Knowledge of how to convert images between various software programs.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Lift product of various sizes and weights (up to 25 lbs.), and frequently apply pressure to hold items in place while they are being engraved.
• Required to see and handle very small items that are being engraved and to monitor details and quality.
• Walking primarily on a level surface, use of stairs, bending, pinching, reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist, and as required to file documents or pick up product.

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED, or six months of related experience, education and/or training.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Prior engraving experience.
• Experience with Signature Engraver and/or Gravograph machines.
• Experience using measuring tools such as a ruler and micrometer.
• Exposure to design techniques, tools, and methods involved in the production of precision technical plans.
