As a Middle School English Teacher, you play a vital role in creating a classroom culture that fosters student achievement and personal growth for all our students. Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Development and Implementation:

• Develop and execute engaging and standards-aligned lesson plans.
• Foster critical thinking, reading comprehension, and effective writing skills through diverse teaching strategies.

2. Student Engagement and Differentiated Instruction:

• Cultivate an inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation, collaboration, and student engagement.
• Utilize differentiated instruction strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs and support all students in reaching their full potential.

3. Literary Exploration:

• Introduce students to various literary genres, works, and authors to develop analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Encourage students to analyze, interpret, and critically evaluate literary texts.

4. Writing Proficiency:

• Guide students in developing strong writing skills, including grammar, composition, and effective communication.
• Provide constructive feedback on written assignments to facilitate growth and improvement.

5. Classroom Management:

• Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, cooperation, and a passion for learning.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment.

6. Assessment and Progress Monitoring:

• Design and administer assessments that accurately measure student progress and growth.
• Analyze assessment data to identify areas of strength and improvement, adapting instructional strategies accordingly.

7. Parent and Guardian Communication:

• Maintain open and regular communication with parents and guardians through meetings, conferences, and progress reports.
• Collaborate with parents to support student success and address any concerns.

8. Professional Development:

• Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with educational trends, teaching methodologies, and best practices.
• Participate in workshops, seminars, and training opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Valid California teaching credential.
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in a diverse urban setting.
• Strong knowledge of English language arts curriculum and instructional best practices.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
• Commitment to educational equity and a belief that all students can succeed.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary Range: $55,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
