POSITION OVERVIEW

Key Responsibilities
- Innovative Teaching: Employ culturally responsive pedagogy to deliver developmentally appropriate and engaging English instruction to 8th Graders.
- Curriculum Design: Creatively plan and teach classes, integrating technology and diverse methodologies to meet our ambitious learning objectives.
- Student Engagement: Offer students voice and choice in their learning, providing clear scaffolds and support to ensure their success.
- Assessment and Feedback: Develop and grade assessments, leveraging feedback to foster a culture of growth and self-reflection among students.
- Classroom Management: Establish a positive classroom culture that balances support with accountability, adapting strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Family Partnership: Maintain open and professional communication with families, offering timely feedback on student progress and partnering on their child’s educational journey.
A full-time, salary-exempt position teaching 8th-grade students as part of our upper school, with a starting date of August 2024 for a 2024-2025 school year agreement.
Requirements:

- Mastery in teaching English, with a solid foundation in child development, culturally responsive pedagogy, and diverse learning profiles.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for engaging students and families alike.
- Strong organizational and technological skills, enhancing the learning experience through innovative educational practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- At least three (3) years of teaching experience, ideally in an independent school setting.
- Demonstrated experience with Google Suite, educational technology platforms, and differentiated instruction.
- Commit to ongoing professional development in pedagogy, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
