SalaryPosition Summary:
The EL Teacher is a Student Support Team member, reports to the Director of Student Support, and works in collaboration with the Montessori faculty of Breakthrough Montessori. They participate in the identification of EL students, provide direct instruction for EL students, and partner closely with the student's classroom teams and families to best support their learning and development.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
The EL Teacher is a 10-month position. Typical working hours are Mondays from 8:00am-4:30pm and Tuesday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm.
Responsibilities include the following:
Direct Instruction and EL services
● Work with classroom staff to support differentiated instruction
● Support students instructionally in the classroom or pull-out setting
● Develop an appropriate curriculum to help EL students acquire the English language
● Provide EL direct instruction to students in PK3 through grade 6
● Employ various instructional techniques and teaching strategies to meet different
aptitudes and interests of students, including whole group, small-group, and individual
learning.
● Assist in developing language acquisition support plans (EL plans) for all EL students and
work with classroom teams to implement plans.
● Maintain communication with parents of students in the program. Engage parents and
families in their student’s learning.
● Facilitate workshops for families
● Produce progress reports for all students on caseload and participate in parent
conferences.
● Participate in meetings, trainings, and/or planning cooperatives to fully serve children’s
needs.
● Manage the educational setting to promote positive student behavior and a safe and
healthy environment.
● Attend and participate in school events outside of regular school hours
● Other duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 – 40 per week

Education:
- Bachelor's (Preferred)
Experience:
- Teaching: 5 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- TESOL Certification (Required)
