PLUS is seeking English Language Arts teachers to teach asynchronous English 9, English 10, English 11, and English 12 courses to high school students. Full lessons, course materials, homework assignments, and tests are embedded in our online curriculum and there is no live instruction.
English Language Arts teachers work according to a self-determined schedule and the workload is flexible, based on their time availability and PLUS' available demand. This is a 100% remote, work-from-anywhere Independent Contractor position.
Responsibilities:
•
Grade homework assignments and tests according to the provided rubric/answer key. Most students are non-native speakers but have a strong, if not fluent, command of the English language.
•
Monitor student progress and pacing in the course
•
Respond to messages from students, parents, and administration within 48 hours (communication via student managing platform)
•
Conduct check-in meetings with students via Zoom for 15 minutes (twice per one-credit course)
Position Details:

Independent contractor position; payment is based on students reaching certain benchmark events in the course
•
Flexible workload and time commitment, anywhere from 15 minutes to several hours per week, based on number of students with which the teacher is working

Requirements:
•
Bachelor's degree required (at minimum) from an accredited U.S. college or university
•
Prior teaching experience required
•
Prior English Language Arts teaching experience strongly preferred
•
Laptop or desktop computer, webcam, and reliable internet access required
•
Time management skills to manage self-determined schedule required
