Tesla manufacturing Pilot team is seeking an independent mechanical Engineering Technician. This role will be responsible for mechanical installation, repair, and maintenance of new tesla product. A strong technical aptitude, fast trouble-shooting capabilities, and effective communication skills are needed to succeed in this role.
What You’ll Do- Perform assembly, testing, repairing, and sustaining on Tesla bot
- Troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions and perform corresponding repairs
- Create work and repair instructions for mechanical installation and repair process
- Execute build plan along with engineers to meet aggressive timeline
- Provide clear, accurate timely information feedback to engineers about build progress
- Fabricate and assemble mechanical fixtures, jig assemble, and testing
- Perform service, mechanical systems upgrades, and documentation
- Work with engineering team to continuously improve manufacturing processes
- Support electrical work if needed, such as PCBA, wire harness installation, and rework
- Experience with installation of mechanical system, such as bolting, press, bearing, Loctite, and adhesives
- Experience using general hand tools such as torque wrenches, arbor press, and other power tools
- Experience with mechanical repair, such as boring, tapping, drilling, sanding, and grinding
- Experience with fixture and jigs
- Experience with computer aided design software, such as 3D experience and CATIA V5
- Understanding of mechanical drawings, schematics, and AutoCAD
- Experience with manual machining, such as lathe and mill
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Must be willing to work night shift and weekends as needed to support build
- Willingness to travel domestically in short term if needed
- Experience with MS office tools such as PPT and excel
- Ability to repetitively handle, lift/carry parts weighing up to 60 lbs. and requires working while standing for periods of time = < 2.5 hrs. throughout the duration of 8 hours shift.
- Electrical experience is a plus, but not required, such as PCBA controller, wire harness, and connector Experience with electrical equipment is a plus such as multimeter, oscilloscopes, soldering, and crimping tools

$24.40 - $65.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
