Class Title
Engineering Technician work activities are divided into three classes.
Engineering Technician II is the second, or beginning intermediate level class, to which Engineer positions are allocated in the classified service.
Duties
Engineering Technician II work activities: Works in field, in the office, or both. Normally serves as Project or Field Engineer in charge of one or more engineering projects. Assists in the design and development of engineering plans and specifications: oversees assigned projects; inspects ongoing and completes projects; inspects ongoing and completed projects; maintains cost expenditure data; prepares cost estimates; and like activities.
Minimum Qualifications
1). Bachelor's degree in Construction Technology or allied field or: four (4) years
experience in Civil Engineering field.
2). Ability to apply technical engineering principles; ability to perceive and visualize
spatial relationships of plane and solid objectives; logical mind: facility in
mathematics; verbal facility; and ability to write and print clearly and distinctly.
3). May be required to hold water supply and sewerage system certifications as
required by ACT 538 of 1972, State of Louisiana.
