We are looking for a bright Engineering Technician to join the Tesla camera team. This team is responsible for the entire lifecycle of cameras within our vehicles which includes sensor evaluation, lens development, camera module development, monitoring of manufacturing quality, camera calibration, image quality assessment, and camera quality tuning.
- Perform module and vehicle level image quality testing related to but not excluding: stray light, MTF, distortion, relative illumination, pixel displacement, and more
- Record cameras on vehicle and work with Autopilot operators for physical outdoor testing on sanctioned test tracks
- Build and maintain fixtures for image quality testing, lighting, and Autopilot dummy testing
- Track and organize camera lab inventory, as well as maintain lab cleanliness
- Document image quality assessments, regression tests, and recordings in a clear manner
- Strong hands-on skills with mechanical tools and fixturing
- Strong understanding of camera framework and photography principles
- Knowledge of ISP, CMOS sensors and image quality fundamentals
- Python programming skills
- Prior experience in developing and performing lab type testing for optical evaluation
- Strong analytical, problem-solving., and communication skills (written and verbal)

$24.40 - $65.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
