What to Expect What You’ll Do What You’ll Bring
Tesla’s actuator team designs and builds actuators for humanoid bi-pedal robots (Tesla Bot). The team joins mechanical, electrical, and electromagnetic engineering disciplines in a highly collaborative environment.
As part of the actuator design team, you will be responsible for assembly of complex mechanical stacks with little to no instruction other than CAD. This position is critical to the development of the high-performance electromechanical rotary and linear actuator systems for humanoid bi-pedal robots (Tesla Bot). You will use GD&T to deliver high precision components with micron level tolerances.
- Measurements of motors and actuators on the dyno
- Setup of actuators and motors on the dyno
- Debug dyno problems of all kinds
- Support R&D with custom test configurations
- Equipment setup of rotational components
- Assembly and testing of actuators
- Thread cutting, insertion of inserts, bushings and bearings
- Apprenticeship with focus on rotational components, lubrication, machining, testing strongly preferred
- 2+ years experience in rotational component testing or manual machining
- Highly motivated, willing to learn on the job
- Able and willing to lift 50lbs
- Comfortable to work in an industrial environment (90% indoor)
- Willing to learn on the job
- Familiar with rotational machinery components
- Able to understand test sequences
Compensation and Benefits
Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:
$24.40 - $65.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
