Join Caterpillar Inc. in our Building Construction Products (BCP) division as an Engineering Team Leader and spearhead cost optimization for our Compact Track Loaders (CTL), Skid Steer Loaders (SSL), and Compact Utility Loaders (CUL). Take charge of innovative projects to reduce product costs by collaborating with dynamic teams across Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Purchasing. Lead impactful cost-saving initiatives, prioritize key projects, and ensure successful execution from start to finish. What You Will Do:

• Lead the product cost initiatives for BCP CTL/SSL/CUL product group.
• Support NPI (New Product Introduction) and Current Production teams in cost optimization project work.
• Complete projects on time and on cost, that deliver VM (Variable Margin) improvement and OPACC (Operating Profit after Capital Charge) benefits to Caterpillar.
• Lead global teams working on cost optimization projects of new products, processes, components, and systems.
• Acknowledge and raise customers’ and management’s awareness of trade-offs between time, resources, quality, and cost.
• Engage with other Product Groups both inside and outside BCP to maximize cost leverage.
• Communicate results to global customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units.

What You Have (Basic Qualifications):

• Degree/experience : Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum OR demonstrated progressive experience in directly related roles.
• Product Design and Development : Knowledge of off highway construction machines, ability to design, build, and develop a new product from concept through to production.
• Project Management : Ability to plan, organize, monitor & control projects while demonstrating efficient use of resources.
• Effective Communication : Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling clear and concise conveyance of complex ideas and information across diverse stakeholders.

Top Candidates Will Have :

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes & technologies; APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) methodologies
• Analytical thinking skills with a track record of effectively identifying patterns, trends, and opportunities within engineering data.
• Strong interpersonal skills, enabling the establishment of collaborative relationships with suppliers, internal teams, and international counterparts to drive collective success.

• Domestic relocation is available to those who qualify.
• 5% domestic and international travel is expected.
