Job Purpose
The Engineering Project Manager acts as CAPEX Manager in the preparation and execution of CAPEX projects in the region scrupulous applying the AkzoNobel processes and standards to deliver best-in-class projects. This position will support the local Engineering staff to prepare, evaluate and execute their CAPEX projects and contribute to other projects during peer reviews. This role will promote standard solutions, ensure the adherence to project management guidance, standard implementation, and reporting.
Job Responsibilities
Ensure an early and clear definition of the project scope, deliverables and the engagement of the end-users through the development of a user requirements specification (URS),
Capture the local technical needs/specifics, in close collaboration with the factory representatives,
Identify and activate the relevant Global Engineering resources and standards to ensure optimal solutions,
Decide and design the adequate technical solutions for the project, accurately scope and cost them,
Translate the URS and Basis of Design (BoD) to Basic Engineering Package,
May manage an internal or external Engineering team to deliver BEP and Detailed Engineering Packages,
Decide the contracting model, in collaboration with Procurement,
Select the suppliers based on agreed criteria and bidding outcomes, issue purchase requisition,
Report the project situation and outlook, escalate to Steerco and Engineering management in case of risk of deviations,
Permanently ensure optimal Safety, Quality, Planning and value for money, escalate to Steerco and Engineering management in case of risk of deviations.
Job Requirements
Engineering Degree and 5+ years of experience in Operations & Capital Project/Portfolio Management,
Has led more multiple major capex projects involving multiple functions,
Has been exposed to different cultures, and proven experiences of managing suppliers,
Technical and scientific understanding (MEng level) in the areas of engineering,
Collaborative and decisive, problem-solving attitude, high ethical values and an excellent communicator, both in communication with specialists and with main stakeholders
Good in writing and speaking English.
Must be mobile across the region (can be up to+70%).
Compensation Data
The salary range for these skills is: $106,000.00 - $117,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
