Key Qualifications
6+ years of engineering experience, at least two of which in a lead or management role
Ability to cut through ambiguity and bring clarity to cross-functional conversations
Strong facilitation skills for design, engineering and project meetings
Ability to build relationships, organize, and direct internal and external teams
Proven technical leadership skills with experience architecting, developing, releasing and supporting mission critical software components
Curiosity to continuously learn new technologies
Experience coaching direct reports to help them advance in their career
Superb verbal and written communication skills
Description
The Maps team is looking for a technically minded manager to drive engineering initiatives across the company. If you enjoy working on cutting edge technology and highly cross-functional projects, this role is for you!
The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise, people management, and a desire to create outstanding customer experiences. In addition to leading engineering teams, you should have a keen eye for the user experience, and be able to drive product definition from concept all the way to delivery.
In this role, you will:
- Manage the Maps Platform Experiences team
- Lead key software initiatives, directing engineers across the Maps organization
- Working with company wide cross-functional teams
- Collaborate with EPM, Product and HI teams
Education & Experience
BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience will be considered
Additional Requirements
- While the following experiences are not vital, one or more of these would be helpful in this role:
- - End-to-end software architecture, spanning Services, Daemons and Apps
- - Native Apple UI frameworks, such as UIKit or SwiftUI
- - Experience working in the Mapping domain
