Position Purpose:
This position is an introductory Engineering Internship position. Intern will be reporting directly to the Engineering Department and responsibilities include those listed within this description, as well as others as directed.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Onsite inspections of various water assets including pumps, motors, VFDs, meters, building assessments, and other assets.
- Enter data into the existing maintenance management database to ensure records of new facilities are accurate and complete.
- Complete capital needs assessments of sites.
- Field Inspection for the installation of assets as needed. Update documentation required for field inspections.
- Attend site meetings, update meeting minutes and documentation.
- Perform material take-offs and quantity estimates.
- Prepare and file permit applications as needed.
Education/Experience/Background:
- Enrolled in a civil engineering program at an ABET accredited engineering school with the goal of obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent analytical, organizational, computer and interpersonal skills.
- Abilities to set daily priorities and work schedules.
- Ability to interface with all levels of staff and management.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment.
- Computer skills (MS Project, Google Suite, AutoCAD, Oracle Peoplesoft, Hyperion or other planning/performance/budgeting tools a plus).
