ENGINEERING INTERN
Job Summary:
An Engineering Intern works under the direction of others and is responsible for preparing either structural drawings or calculations. When helping prepare a calculation report, the Engineering Intern will perform simple analysis, design, and documentation of various structures. The Engineering Intern may also aid in developing a Revit model for use in structural construction documents. This includes typical notes, foundation and framing plans, as well as foundation and framing details. This position provides support to a design team and reports directly to a Project Engineer or Project Designer in the Structural Department.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned project including planning layouts and details at the direct of others.
- Help to lay out a conceptual design
- Help develop Revit models for Project Engineers or Project Designers
- Aid structural calculation packages for permitting
- Design and analysis of building foundations and framing for gravity and lateral loads
- Coordinate structural drawings with structural calculations
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Microsoft Word
- Knowledge of structural materials and the building process
Education:
- Seeking a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field required preferred
- (0-3) years’ related experience
