Flowood, MS 39232Position Type: FT-HourlyLevel/Salary Range:TBDProgression Paths:TBDHR Contact:Susan RaybornHiring Manager:Job DescriptionRole and ResponsibilitiesThe role of the Engineering Intern is to assist the engineering department in simple medical device design and lab tesing efforts and will consist of clerical and administrative duties, design using Solidworks, and participation in cadaver labs.
Responsibilities:
- Support Design Engineers through use of SolidWorks to help with simple medical device design work
- Conduct basic product mechanical lab testing
- Develop protocols and test reports in support of mechanical lab testing
- Organize test file directories through use of a commonsense filing methodology
- Help with 5S activities in the mechanical test lab
- Take part in surgeon cadaver labs and support in any way required
- Participate in project team meetings and provide updates as needed
- Provide weekly progress updates to Director of Engineering
- Develop a basic understanding of machining and assembly processes used to create medical devices
- Develop a basic understanding of the responsibilities of the various functional disciplines within our company
Requirements:
- SolidWorks Familiarity
