In this position you will support the Electrical Hardware Infotainment team in Palo Alto with a focus on Infotainment and Connectivity ECUs. At the time of the internship we will be at a critical point in the development of our new hardware architecture. During this critical time, you will be involved in solving real and complex problems and ensuring our designs survive various harsh environments.

Pay Disclosure
Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Internships: The range of pay for internships is 25.00-51.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, and other factors permitted by law.
Rivian provides robust wellness benefits, and a medical insurance package for interns, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.

In this position you will support the Electrical Hardware Infotainment team in Palo Alto with a focus on Infotainment and Connectivity ECUs. Responsibilities
- As a Hardware Design intern, you will work to test and analyze existing Infotainment hardware platforms for the R1 vehicles as well as support prototyping of our next generation designs.
- Gain a good understanding of the existing Infotainment architecture and designs you will support over the internship. This may include Compute, Ethernet, CAN, GMSL, FPD-LINK, Sensing, and Wireless technologies.
- Perform circuit/system level simulations and/or data processing
- Support design validation test (DVT)testing and root causing of any issues uncovered during DVT.
- Vehicle integration and test support to provide a good foundation in how our Infotainment ECUs interacts with other ECUs.
- Understand all assigned tasks, collaborate with various teams to understand stakeholder needs, and complete tasks on time and with a sense of ownership.
Qualifications
- Must be currently pursuing a bachelors, masters, or PhD degree at an accredited university
- Actively pursuing a degree or one closely related in Electrical Engineering
- Programming language, Python or C++ preferred
- Understanding of basic analog/digital circuit design, OrCAD schematic capture, debugging skills using oscilloscopes, temp chambers, general lab equipment
- Working knowledge of Schematic Capture, Hardware Design, Embedded Systems, Firmware Development
- Relative internship experience in the Tech, Automotive, or Mobility Industry is preferred
- Microsoft tools preferred
- Preference for participants who have been actively involved in Adventurous or Automotive related teams, clubs, hobbies or activities
- Strong interpersonal and team-building skills; ability to work with a diverse team and influence/drive change across functional and business boundaries
- Effective communication and strategic thinking skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced program with a diverse team
