SalaryJob Purpose
This position improves manufacturing conditions to ensure customers receive products with no manufacturing defects through problem containment, complex analysis, countermeasure of root cause, and improved process design.
Key Accountabilities
- Mass Production Quality: Investigate concerns from manufacturing departments; develop, test, and implement countermeasures; provide technical analysis for manufacturing departments; lead daily Hinjuku problem solving activity.
- New Model Quality: Drawing analysis; design, develop, test, and create fixtures to be used in production; test and develop countermeasures for past problem history; provide technical input to manufacturing departments to ensure understanding of spec and quality metric changes.
- Complex Analysis: Utilize metrology and engineering principles to identify root cause of complex quality concerns; generate reports or presentations to communicate the activity; lead implementation of countermeasure implementation.
- Business Plan: Lead Business Plan themes as assigned each year by department or plant leadership; create and execute plans to achieve Business Plan theme goals; provide quarterly progress updates to management.
- Continuous Improvement: Utilize engineering principles to investigate long term quality problems; research quality improvement methods; develop and execute improvement plans; report progress in weekly Hinjuku meetings..
- Quality Management System: Ensure manufacturing departments have updated documents or systems required for compliance; clearly answer questions and provide explanations as needed during audits.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial) or equivalent related experience
2-8 years relevant experience based upon education

- CATIA 3 Dimensional Software
- Metrology Software (CM4D, Data Loop, Polyworks, PCDMIS)
- Metrology Know-How
- Laser Gauge Measurement System
- Project Management
- Manufacturing Know-How
- Defect Reporting & Statistical Analysis (Business Objects, QICS)
Working Conditions
Must be willing to work overtime, sometimes on short notice
Must be willing to travel as needed
Must be able to support manufacturing as needed (may include handwork, online inspections, or temporarily support a production process)
