What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for supporting the development and improvement of manufacturing processes, equipment, and products. You will also work to solve technical issues, implement process improvements, and contribute to product design and development projects for the Purification Sciences and Engineering (PS&E) organization within the Process DevelopmentDrug Substance Department in a Non-Standard shift operations including extended hours, weekends and holidays.

Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the implementation of manufacturing/quality systems such as non-conformances, process validation, process monitoring, procedures, training, and new product introductions.

  • Provides characterization of process optimization strategies and/or troubleshooting of operational issues in the operations, manufacturing, pilot plant or capital projects environment.

  • Apply basic engineering principles to the design and implementation of system modifications, experiments and/or capital projects.

  • Under general supervision will evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.

  • Provide on-the-floor technical support for successful commercial manufacturing campaigns, process improvements, and troubleshooting issues.

  • Routinely monitor manufacturing processes for performance indicators and operations and provide problem resolution and guidance.

  • Support experiments in the laboratory to resolve technical issues observed at large scale manufacturing.

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams such as: Manufacturing, Maintenance, Process Development, Utilities, Facilities, Quality Assurance and/or Validation Departments in developing requirements and recommendations for system modifications and manufacturing operations.

Basic Qualifications:

Master’s degree

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of engineering and/or manufacturing support experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education background in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering.

  • Skilled in performance of GMP production operations and experience in the development and/or manufacturing of pharmaceutical/biotechnology processes.

  • Knowledge and experience with regulatory interactions.

  • Organizational, technical writing, presentation, and project management skills

  • Knowledge of control charting and basic statistics.

  • Availability to support non-standard shift.

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish.
