Engineer, Pipeline Integrity

Venture Global LNG ("Venture Global") is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. We are seeking to welcome a new team member to the Pipeline Operations Team in the role of Pipeline Integrity Engineer. This position will support pipeline operations across the full VG transmission pipeline portfolio (TCPL, CX, GX). The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented technical professional with a skillset focused on Pipeline Integrity management in the gas pipeline industry. A secondary focus on pipeline regulatory requirements and project / contractor coordination will be a necessity. This person will have significant experience in the natural gas industry working in both an office and field/site environment. This person will be able to develop, execute and optimize integrity management plans, operational SOPs and other related pipeline technical objectives.

The Pipeline Integrity Engineer will report to the Pipeline Operations team's Senior Manager and will work alongside of other VG Operations / Project teams, being ultimately responsible for the execution and the performance of VG's Pipeline Integrity plans.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the VG Transmission Pipeline Integrity Management Manual and its programs are applied on all VG transmission pipeline assets.
• Develop, execute and maintain each of the detailed Pipeline Integrity plans, aligned to the Pipeline Integrity manual and associated regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain historical Pipeline Integrity data for VG transmission pipeline assets. Provide data analysis and investigation into pipeline data to identify issues and opportunities for each VG transmission pipeline asset.
• Support the development, execution and refinement of pipeline major service plans for all VG transmission pipeline assets.
• Refine major service plans to account for historical integrity data trends, asset optimization objectives and design lifecycle requirements.
• Ensure applicable regulatory codes (ex: 49 CFR 191/192) are reflected in the Pipeline Integrity plan activities and outcomes.
• Provide support for regulatory compliance of transmission pipeline assets, including assistance with site audits and field visits and support for PHMSA and FERC visits and/or data request.
• Develop and execute an assurance program for Pipeline Integrity in order to provide feedback to VG transmission pipeline asset owners. Assurance program must provide useful feedback to optimize integrity plans and maintenance programs for each transmission pipeline asset.
• Prepare recurring formal transmission Pipeline Integrity reports for VG management.
• Provide regular briefings to VG transmission pipeline asset owners with predictive or observed changes to Pipeline Integrity.
• Propose and implement mitigation plans for transmission pipeline assets as required.
• Support activity related to upstream gas suppliers to VG with non-standard operational activity, major maintenance planning, process upset condition SOP's and other related items.
• Establish and maintain technical interfaces with all VG facilities and projects for transmission Pipeline Integrity management requirements.
• Develop SOP's and procedures to ensure best practices are uniformly applied across all VG transmission pipeline assets. Liaise with VG LNG plant operations teams and VG pipeline project teams to ensure transmission pipeline best practices for Pipeline Integrity are consistent with plant / project methods where possible.
• Provide subject matter guidance for Pipeline Operations field team as required.
• Support development and refinement of VG transmission pipeline OPEX budgets for Pipeline Integrity items, including detailed cost planning for major brownfield events.
• Define the required Operator Qualifications (OQ's) and training required for personnel working on VG transmission Pipeline Integrity plan activities. Support development of VG training content development / delivery, as related to Pipeline Integrity.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities related to VG transmission Pipeline Integrity program/manual.
• Participate in asset decision making by producing & communicating metrics-based risk analysis as related to transmission Pipeline Integrity.
• Review and comment on Engineering deliverables, plans and procedures related to transmission Pipeline Integrity.
• Support pipeline operations work related to LA811 / TX811 one-call programs in the role of transmission Pipeline Integrity SME.
• Applicant should be willing to have regular travel to each VG transmission pipeline location in the Louisiana and east Texas region to perform the job duties.
• Work sites may require movement on and around elevated and marine based structures, including road and marine craft transport along pipeline ROWs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or commensurate work experience.
• Must be able to demonstrate leadership skills and an aptitude for team building.
• Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC.

• Strong specialization in Pipeline Integrity roles in the natural gas transmission pipeline industry.
• 5 or more years of experience in the natural gas pipeline industry with demonstrable experience in project management (construction or operations).
• Intimate knowledge of 49 CFR 191 & 192 as applied to natural gas transmission Pipeline Integrity. Understanding of 49 CFR 193 is a plus, but not essential.
• Knowledge of applicable natural gas pipeline industry construction practices, PHMSA, FERC and agency requirements.
• Working knowledge of gas compression technology, including general construction, commissioning and operational practices is beneficial, but not essential.
• PMP certification a plus.
• Knowledge of engineering design standards and applicable natural gas industry codes and regulations; must stay current on technology, industry standards and material.
• Understands concepts of asset lifecycle management, system reliability and gas transmission pipeline operations.
• Excellent verbal and written/electronic communication.
• Strong HSSE commitment and demonstrated HSSE leadership skills.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be capable of driving and being insured in the states of LA and TX at a minimum.
• Applicant must possess and maintain a physical movement capability to allow job duties in all VG transmission pipeline locations. This may at times vary from indoor work to field work in typical Louisiana / Texas wilderness areas and gulf coast areas. Wet, muddy, un-even terrain is typical to these locations.
