Job Details

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct non-destructive testing of materials and articles to ensure compliance with ASTM E1742, ASTM E1417, and company standards and procedures.
• Perform visual weld inspections as an American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector (AWS-CWI).
• Design customized test setups for computed tomography scans and operate the NSI X5000 (or equivalent) 3D computed tomography system to generate high-resolution models for further analysis.
• Reconstruct and analyze 3D computed tomography datasets using the efX software suite and/or Volume Graphics.
• Assist with data analysis and interpretation of inspection results.
• Possess a functional understanding of other NDT methods, including Ultrasonics, Eddy Current, and Magnetic Particle.
• Develop and modify manufacturing and in-service NDT procedures.
• Review engineering orders to ensure correct NDT methods are applied.
• Review and approve internal and supplier inspection techniques.
• Contribute to NDT lab budget planning and assist with purchasing decisions for new equipment and systems.
• Coordinate with purchasing for the procurement of lab supplies.
• Potentially assume the role of NAS410 Responsible Level 3.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of the company's NDT certification plan and training program for newly hired personnel.
• Collaborate with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
• Compile and prepare necessary data and engineering items for technical meetings and product delivery.
• Provide technical and programmatic understanding of projects to the team and customers.
• Mentor junior team members and actively participate in project activities.
• Handle classified documents following DoD procedures for usage and safeguarding.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations in collaboration with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) personnel.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field, with at least 2 years of related experience.
• Higher-level degrees may substitute for experience.
• Ability to certify in Radiography & Liquid Penetrant per NAS410 & company standards.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, MIL-specs, industry standards, and process certification training.
• Flexibility to support program critical needs during non-traditional hours.
