Job Summary
The Software Quality Engineer III is responsible for the delivery of high-quality applications, enhancements, and maintenance by thoroughly testing systems and new software prior to "go-live" implementation and supporting the successful scaling and rollout as needed. The Quality Engineer 3 executes testing procedures to ensure software meets the established quality standards and needs of the business. Prepares data sets to test logic, error handling, and system workflows. The Quality Engineer III will isolate, reproduce, and track defects. The individual will verify fixes, test modifications, and document testing according to required procedures. Familiar with software development life cycle and quality assurance methodologies. The Quality Engineer III will work on projects and any changes to software in existing facilities/functions.
The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid's brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.
Responsibilities
- Analyze the root cause of issues reported from user acceptance testing.
- Conduct software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments.
- Create test strategies, test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures.
- Leverage automated test scripts for test execution.
- Develop or specify standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness.
- Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error and defect retests, and usability.
- Document test procedures to ensure compliance with standards.
- Document and report software defects using a bug-tracking system.
- Identify program deviance from standards, and suggest modifications to ensure compliance.
- Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content.
- Investigate referred customer problems as needed.
- Plan test efforts and schedules in accordance with project scope or delivery dates.
- Monitor program performance to ensure efficient and problem-free operations.
- Participate in requirement and design reviews and perform testability assessments.
- Perform debugging procedures by reviewing configuration files, logs, or code pieces to determine the breakdown source.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to developers on software usability and functionality.
- Test system modifications to prepare for implementation.
- Prepare test documentation for releases.
- Remain current on relevant best practices to support offering.
- Ensure the final product satisfies the business and end-user expectations
Required Skills
- 4+ years experience in Software Quality testing required.
- Strong knowledge of test and defect management tools required.
- Extensive experience in Quality Control
- Experience in Warehouse Operations preferred (Receiving, Shipping, Returns, Inventory)
- Experience in Manhattan WMOS preferred
- Experience in using DevOps to record test scripts and defects
- Intermediate experience writing queries using PL/SQL required.
- Strong knowledge and experience with testing methodologies required.
- Ability to exercise judgment, and act in a professional manner required.
- An intelligent individual who can relate to people at different levels of the organization and possesses very strong communication skills, both written and verbal required.
- An individual with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus is required.

Education:
MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering
Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor Degree computer Science or related program required
Masters Degree Computer Science or related program referred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Experience in Warehouse Operations preferred (Receiving, Shipping, Returns, Inventory) preferred
WORK EXPERIENCE
7 years of experience in Software Quality testing required
5 years of experience in with API and UI automation testing on desktop browser and mobile devices utilizing Selenium/Appium required
Proficient in testing web and mobile application, .NET based client server, web services and Database required
Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing.
Strong knowledge and experience with testing methodologies required
Strong knowledge of test and defect management tools like Jira/Azure DevOps required
Experience with client/server automation and tools like TestComplete, POSTMAN, Azure DevOps, mobile cloud hosting platforms like Sauce Labs, BrowserStack preferred
Experience with programming in Python, JavaScript and/or Java, SQL and PL/SQL pRequired
Ability to exercise judgment, and act in a professional manner required
An intelligent individual who can relate to people at different levels of the organization and possesses very strong communication skills, both written and verbal required
An individual with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus required
