Job Description
BAE Systems is looking for an experienced Systems Software Test Lead Engineer to support the continued development and delivery of a world class geospatial library capability. The program is developing tomorrow's technology to enable cutting-edge access, delivery and exploitation of geospatial data. As a part of the team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of developing and executing comprehensive test cases to validate the features and functionality of the library software itself, as well as patches/updates, hot fixes, plugins, and several associated software packages. Continuous Integration and Test is a core philosophy on the program and thus the Systems Engineering team is striving to employ automated and manual test methods to thoroughly test the product prior to operational deployment. A strong desire to build efficiency into the testing process with a focus on continuous process improvement to ensure bug-free software is a must. The team will leverage advanced testing products and techniques to develop the systems engineering products.
The primary tasks include the overall management of the integration and test environment, planning, processes and user training. The qualified candidate will be responsible for the development of software test plans, test procedures, obtaining test data, test execution, evaluating result accuracy, defect reporting/investigation/tracking, and reporting of test results for all required test activities.
Assigned tasks may also include:
  • The development of user stories, backlog prioritization and management, technical documentation, sprint planning, resource management and customer engagement.
  • Close interaction with other engineers within and across the teams is required to achieve program objectives.
  • Position could eventually require infrequent business travel to customer and Company locations in support of product installations, team collaboration, test activities and customer meetings.

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.
