Job Description
Responsibilities:
SEG is seeking an experienced Energy Engineer to become a full-time Energy Management Engineer. As a member of our team, the Energy Management Engineer will work with clients to conduct energy management assessments, calculate energy savings associated with various changes to systems, equipment, and operations, build performance regression models to track site energy performance, and facilitate energy efficiency training programs to support the adoption of energy management best practices in business. Specific activities include:
· Assess commercial building and industrial energy systems to identify operational, capital, and operations and maintenance cost saving opportunities.
· Calculate reduced costs associated with energy efficiency measures.
· Consult with and support end-user implementation of identified cost saving opportunities.
· Develop energy usage and intensity regression models using IPMVP standards for measurement and verification of energy savings.
· Field performance measurement and data collection of building and industrial process energy systems
· Provide detailed fact finding, research, and analysis on energy-related activities
· Communicate solutions and new strategies to clients through reports and presentations
· Facilitate energy efficiency training programs
Desired Skills & Experience
· Bachelor of Science in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred. Significant years of experience for exceptional candidates will be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
· 5+ years of experience analyzing and developing energy efficiency projects.
· Superior interpersonal skills
· Strong technical background in building systems or industrial process technologies, CEM certification a plus
· Familiarity with statistical analysis and/or measurement and verification in the energy efficiency industry, CMVP certification a plus
· Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities without diminished effectiveness
· The ability to work independently or in a team environment.
· Demonstrated proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and slide presentation software
· Ability to travel as needed, driver’s license required.
