Job Description
The purpose of the class is to provide the employee with EMT training and experience prior to EMT certification. The EMT trainee will attend EMT class, and obtain experience in an EMS field setting by responding to emergency calls under the supervision of a Crew Leader. The class works within a general outline of work to be performed, and develops work methods and sequences under general supervision.
Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent. Must meet the minimum criteria for acceptance into the emergency medical technician training program. Must possess a valid state driver’s license. Must complete required coursework and maintain an appropriate grade to complete EMT course work and achieve EMT certification and any other certifications deemed necessary by department head. Requires one year of driving experience.
