Job Description
Summary
The primary duty of an EMT at Trident EMS is to treat and transport patients entrusted to their care. Coordinating with the Dispatch Team, they respond to both Emergency and Non-Emergency requests prioritizing patient care, communicating effectively, documenting thoroughly, and providing meticulous medical treatment with a strong emphasis on patient safety.
Essential Functions
Provides both Emergency and Non-Emergency medical transportation
Exhibits exceptional judgment and prioritizes public safety while operating and positioning the ambulance unit
Employs suitable techniques, resources, and equipment to diagnose and treat patients
Oversees patient assessment, packaging, and transportation
Completes accurate medical records and transportation reports
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of current standards of care, including equipment functionality and usage
Adheres to safety standards
Prioritizes the well-being of themselves, medical personnel, patients, and equipment.
Establishes positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS Representatives, hospitals, and the public
Maintains cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the ambulance unit and equipment after each response
Ensures proper Vehicle Maintenance and Supply Levels at all times
Reports any equipment damage or malfunctions promptly
In addition to their operational duties, the EMT fulfills all station responsibilities and maintains the crew quarters in a tidy condition. They uphold a professional appearance, personal hygiene, and a courteous demeanor while on duty, treating all individuals with respect and politeness.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age
Ability to pass physical evaluation, including lifting 125 lbs.
High school diploma or general educations degree (GED)
Must be able to communicate and understand written & conversational English
Licensure and Certifications
Valid Florida State Licensure, Department of Health as an EMT or NREMT
Valid Class "E" Florida Driver's license
Basic life support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider
Certification Preferred
Commercial Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO) or Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC)

EMT: $17.00+ (Commensurating Experience)
First 2 Aid EMS, D.B.A. Trident EMS, provides BLS, ALS and CCT inter-facility medical transportation services in Osceola County, Orange County, Polk County, Lake County, and Seminole County.
