RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow the IPS model of Supported Employment while assisting members with obtaining employment and education based
on the participant choice.
• Engage clients, establish trusting, collaborative relationships directed towards goal of competitive employment in
integrated job settings.
• Provide one-on-one assistance to members in job searches, resume writing, and interview preparation as requested by the
member devoted towards employment goals with a caseload ratio of 1:20 of all active job seekers.
• Assist member in successful job placement by helping develop personal and community support networks, supporting
member identify solutions for barriers to employment, supporting access to available education and training, and
developing job opportunities for members.
• Facilitate communication between members and employer as requested by the member and advocates for member as
needed to ensure work success and provide job leads to members regularly for diverse positions.
• Actively promote an integrated, regional system of care by participating in committees, on interagency teams and by
attending meetings related to the field of employment.
• Provide education and support to employers, including negotiating job accommodations and follow-along contact with
employers.
• Engage employers to place members in competitive employment for a variety of jobs in accordance with program
outcomes as required by the county.
• Meet regularly with treatment team members to coordinate and integrate vocational services into mental health
treatment as directed by the IPS model.
• Comply with all MHS and program rules, policies and procedures including HIPAA standards.
• May be required to attend initial and on-going training for County of San Diego, Department of Behavioral Health Services
SSI Advocacy and Training Contracts program.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree and four years of experience providing employment services to a similar population, OR five years of
experience providing employment services to a similar population and with developing jobs/sales or master’s in
vocational Rehabilitation.
• Bilingual preferred
• Knowledge of fidelity for Supported Employment/IPS model and ICCD Standards
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and ability to create reports and spreadsheets.
• Fluent in English required; bilingual in Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Arabic, or Farsi preferred
• Driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Comfortable providing on site and field-based services as requested by the member.
• Adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and solve problems in a timely manner.
• Able to communicate clearly, both in writing and orally, with employees, management, and co-workers.
• Highly organized, thorough, and able to self-monitor work for quality
• Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, timely respond to management, and enjoy working in a fast-paced
team-based environment.
