Job Summary:

 

As the corporate attorney you will specialize in providing legal guidance and representation for PCF Insurance Services. You will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations, while also offering advice on various legal matters related to corporate operations and contracts. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, including executives, managers, and employees, as well as external clients, legal teams, and government agencies.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Legal Consultation and Advice:

o Provide legal advice and counsel on a wide range of corporate matters, including employment, licensing, contractual, and regulatory issues.

o Conduct legal research to stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents that may impact the organization.

o Assess and mitigate employment risks associated with business activities and propose strategies to address them.

Contract Drafting and Review:

o Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, agreements, and legal documents, such as restrictive covenants, non solicitation, non-disclosure agreements, employment contracts and employment contract enforcement letters.

o Ensure that contracts are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.

o Advise on contract interpretation and provide recommendations to protect the company's interests.

Corporate Governance and Compliance:

o Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards.

o Develop and implement corporate policies and procedures to promote legal and ethical behavior within the organization.

Conduct Governance and Compliance:

o Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards.

o Develop and implement corporate policies and procedures to promote legal and ethical behavior within the organization.

o Conduct internal investigations, as necessary, to address potential legal issues or violations.

Dispute Resolution and Litigation:

o Represent the organization in dispute resolution processes, such as negotiations, medication, and arbitration.

o Collaborate with external litigation counsel when litigation arises, providing guidance and support throughout the process.

o Assist in managing and resolving legal disputes, including drafting settlement agreements and participating in court proceedings, if required.

Legal Awareness and Training:

o Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate employees on legal matters, corporate policies, and compliance requirements.

o Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the organization's industry and provide training or guidance to ensure compliance.

 

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Admission to the bar association in the relevant jurisdiction

7+ years' experience practicing employment law, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department

Strong knowledge of employment and contract law, regulations, and legal principles

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills

Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Sound judgment and ability to make decisions in complex legal situations

Team player with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stake holders

 

Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience

Schedule: FT

Travel: Estimated travel up to 10%
