Employee Claims Voucher Examiner (SEC V)
Haynes Inc. an experienced long-term government contractor, is searching for an Employee Claims Voucher Examiner to serve our client, the Department of State (DOS) in beautiful Charleston, SC. To be considered for this job, the candidate must be able to obtain a security Secret Clearance, or already possess one. A Secret Clearance will open a lot of other doors for your career with the Government, including the possibility of being hired directly. This is a full-time job with a starting salary range between $48,500-50,500 PLUS generous benefits package (outlined below).

You Must Meet these Minimum Requirements
  • A high school degree or equivalent
  • Relevant professional experience in auditing, financial transactions, customer service, protecting personal identifiable information and drafting emails

We are also Looking for:
  • A 2-year degree from an accredited College/University is preferred, or
  • 2 to 4 years of overall relevant professional experience in auditing, financial transactions, customer service, protecting personal identifiable information and drafting emails is highly preferred
  • Have experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of Management and staff
  • Quality deliverables presented with minimal errors or error free Ability to provide deliverables in a timely manner
  • Ability to adapt to the ever changing world of claims

Day-to-day Job Responsibilities include
The Employee Claims Examiner will serve in the Bureau of the Comptroller and Global Financial Services (CGFS), division of DoS, Charleston, SC. The employee will provide Claims Auditor support to the Office of Employee Claims Division. The job requires auditing of domestic relocation travel and allowance claims, including TDY and collection of outstanding travel advances.

  • Learn and understand complex travel regulations

  • Recommend, develop, present, and implement cost-effective solutions to the Department's requirements
  • Provide customer service and guidance via phone and/or email to Department of State Employees and dependents regarding allowances on Permanent Change of Station or Temporary Duty Travel
  • Review, research and audit travel claims in a timely manner in accordance with federal travel regulations; identify discrepancies and provide guidance and assistance to resolve and resubmit claim
  • Review required backup documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist in Collecting Outstanding Travel Advances
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining rapport with DoS bureaus, posts, and vendor points of contact, to facilitate tracking, monitoring, and reconciliation of shipping and storage payments
  • Ability to work within pre-established timelines
  • Facilitate training
  • Support and demonstrate an understanding of ISO 9001 objectives

Work Schedule
To be hired, the candidate must reside in the state of South Carolina. This position supports a government contract and is subject to the government agency rules and management.
Currently, after initial onboarding, training, and performance milestones, partial telework can be approved for your work flexibility for up to three days teleworking and two days in-office on site. This schedule may change to three or four days on site work per client requirements.
Work hours are 40 hours per week between the hours of 6:15 am - 6:00 pm. Core working hours are 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. Work Schedule is defined based on the work requirements of our client's division, Global Financial Services. The contract has a non-compensated, 45-minute lunch Monday through Friday.
