Job description

Identify and recruit qualified candidates for non-exempt and select exempt positions. Interview applicants, answers questions about the job and the Company, and evaluate qualifications.

Provide copy of all approved requisitions for logging and posting, if necessary. Ensure log is maintained and disposition of each requisition is fully documented.

Refers qualified applicants, checks references, verifies employment and arranges for employment physicals.

Administer maintenance of chronological files of resumes and/or applications for review when openings occur.

Administer Job Opportunity Program, making sure jobs are posted, applicants are considered and communications are completed per policy.

Conducts new employee orientations; explains Bobrick policies to new employees; and answers ongoing questions from employees.

Advocates on behalf of the non-exempt workforce.

Monitors and improves the workforce morale, and resolves issues within time constraints.

Direct the regular management transfers and temporary transfers between departments in accordance with Company policy when there are changes or reductions in department work schedules, better opportunities to utilize employees’ skills, ability and experience, opportunity for training, or to accommodate an employee’s personal or health needs.

Direct managers and supervisors with regard to correct procedures for employee discipline and the solution of other Employee Relations issues.

Work with employment agencies to fill temporary and regular positions as required; negotiate contracts, coordinate interviews/hiring, maintain all communication between agency and Company.

Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation for all terminations, including conducting and preparing written report of non-exempt and select exempt exit interviews.

Develop and conduct (if appropriate) management and employee training materials for individual employee and team development.

Performs and documents disciplinary investigations. Makes recommendations to management.

Reviews Worker’s Compensation, Disability, and Unemployment Insurance claims, and ensures correct filing and follow-up with case managers. Interacts and follows up with employees and insurance companies regarding claims/administration.

Manages and represents Company in unemployment and worker’s compensation hearings.

Administers wage and salary program, including completion and analysis of wage and salary surveys to determine competitive compensation plan.

Ensures compensation practices conform to statutory requirements and company policies.

Develops and maintains active membership in community and professional organizations to promote company image, ensure updating of required professional information, and assess industry trends.

Maintains legal postings, provide legal information to management as required.

Leads and/or participates in the special studies and projects as necessary for Corporate HR function and Division.

Prepare local payroll in accordance with approved BLA payroll procedures.

Direct and administer local employee benefits (including health, life, dental, etc.) through documentation, employee education, and direction to local provider and evaluate for cost reduction opportunities

Update Employee Relations Manual, job descriptions, modules and employee handbook as required and approved by corporate.

Maintain liaison between employees and department heads, which includes assisting with employee problem solving and policy application.

Conduct and prepare written reports of non-exempt exit interviews for Sr. VP & Chief Human Resources Officer.

Administration of company sponsored projects such as the OBI Blood Drive, Company Picnic, Holiday Event, United Way Campaign etc.

Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by laws or local governing

Ensure documentation preparation is complete for input to UKG and Payroll for all new hires, temporaries, and transferred employees.

Administer non-exempt Performance Review Program to ensure all forms are complete, timely and concise; provide written support for checklist evaluation and have proper approvals.

Conduct all employee surveys as necessary, complete and submit prior to due date.

Conduct employee training and development programs at direction of Division Management or Sr. VP & Chief Human Resources Officer.

Lead the career development/tracking and succession planning for management and non-management employees, to include working with employees to update IDPs/EDPs and modules.

Responsible for maintenance of employee files.

Oversee coordination, preparation, and distribution of BGD newsletter.

Plan and control fiscal budget for Employee Relations/Maintenance departments.

Oversees the stock levels of company office supplies.

Leads, drives, supports, administrates and maintains the Module Program.


Experience

Required
  • 4 year(s): Bachelor's degree (BA) or equivalent; four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Above average communications skills. High degree of judgment and tact. Ability to present a professional Company images and maintains confidentiality of materials.
